We know that small businesses often maintain their own books with a perception of saving costs but more importantly to avoid the typically significant costs in outsourcing their bookkeeping. We make the outsource option more accessible to you by charging more reasonable rates. Although we are likely charging less than our competition, we maintain a highly professional stance with our work. This means that you are well supported in having accurate financial records maintained on your behalf. This means you can heavily rely on the data in your accounting system to make the best financial decisions to move your business forward. We pride ourselves on our ability to pay the greatest level of attention to detail to eliminate mistakes. We also believe that we need to be flexible to support your business. We therefore offer a personalised service to you. This includes being able to perform our services on-site or off-site. We also do not try to align you to a single accounting software solution, we seek to support you with your current solution. We are adept at quickly learning various software systems, including propriety or industry specific systems, and we are therefore more available to meet your needs than most. We will also work closely with you to ensure that our outputs, such as reporting, meet your specific requirements. You should be able to effectively use the information we provide to you from your accounting system. Lastly, we apply a flexible pricing model. Whether you prefer to pay for hours actually worked or prefer to pay a fixed monthly fee for the services you require. We will charge you for our services in a manner that works best for you.
Our Team and Affiliations
We have amassed over 10 years experience in bookkeeping for small business. Our Principal Bookkeeper, Ashley Roberts, holds a Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting qualification. We are a certified Intuit Quickbooks Online ProAdvisor and a member of the Australian Bookkeepers Association and supported by the Australian Bookkeepers Network.

As an expert analyst and problem solver, Ashley’s priority is on getting your books in order and then focusing on how your business can improve. In addition to his bookkeeping acumen, Ashley has IT credentials that will support you well in transitioning to and using cloud accounting systems, or to using your existing computerised accounting system plus flexibility to work within your business parameters to provide services onsite and/or remotely without a problem. Ashley knows and understands numbers in a way most people can’t. His attention to detail and knowledge of business management is second to none, and he will most certainly be able to find ways to aid you effectively in your business.
Ashley holds a Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting (GCPA) from RMIT University. He has 7 years experience in small business as a sole-trader and over 4 years experience as a Business Manager. He has also previously worked as a Project Manager for various organisations and started his career as an Officer in the Royal Australian Air Force for nearly 11 years. Ashley’s qualification and experience across a broad range of occupations and industries will be a valuable asset to your business.

Facilitation of BAS Services
HawkEye Bookkeeping cannot provide BAS Services in our own right at this time but facilitates the provision of a BAS Service by a registered BAS/Tax Agent. The Tax Agent Services Act 2009 defines certain services as BAS Services that can only be provided by a registered BAS Agent or Tax Agent for a fee or reward. A number of requirements are required by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) before an application to become a registered BAS Agent is successful. HawkEye Bookkeeping is in the process to meet all requirements to register with the TPB as a BAS Agent. A Bookkeeper is able to instead facilitate or coordinate the provision of BAS Services through a BAS Agent or a Tax Agent. A bookkeeper in such an instance must have an arrangement in place with a registered BAS Agent or Tax Agent that allows that agent to have sufficient supervision and control over the activities of the bookkeeper. HawkEye Bookkeeping has partnered with ABN BAS Pty Ltd (ABN BAS) and EtaxLocal Pty Ltd (Etax Local) to act as the supervisory agents for provision of any BAS Services noted on this web site.
About Our Partnership with ABN BAS
We are a member of the Australian Bookkeepers Network (ABN). They have served the bookkeeping industry since 2001 and in that time have grown to become Australia’s largest private representative body for self-employed and contract bookkeepers with over 1500 members spread across all states and territories. ABN provides us with the resources, tools and technical support to improve the quality and calibre of our service offering to you. Since 2001, they have certified BASs for thousands of their members.
ABN BAS Pty Ltd is the sister business of ABN. The main service offering of ABN BAS relates to Activity Statements and is two fold:
- They perform Quality Assurance Reviews of Activity Statements for both BAS Agents and non-BAS Agents; and
- They act as the BAS Agent for clients of ABN members who are not BAS Agents themselves, and attend to the electronic lodgement of the client’s Activity Statements with the ATO.
This means that we can attend to your bookkeeping and have your BAS Services provided by ABN BAS. From your perspective, you can take comfort from the knowledge that your BAS Services are being provided by a registered and competent organisation who are experts in their field.
